At least it does for this mama. I don't know what it is about soft, pretty piano music that makes my heart seem to melt. Not the Bach, Mozart, etc. classical piano music though. I truly admire those men, I just prefer lighter, happier piano music like Jon Schmidt, Jim Brickman, and such. Instead of wishing I could play like the artists I hear I silently thank them for fulfilling their roles and devoting their lives to music so that I could reap the benefits. I try to take in every single note and let my spirit soak it up and you know, it actually works. I mean I even like (gasp!) doing the dishes with music playing in the background. It takes my mind to higher fields rather than dwelling on the fact that no matter how many times I do dishes there will ALWAYS be more to do. I start to think about how grateful I am to have food to dirty those dishes. It's almost as if my heart fills up with love for everything around me. James can even scatter a box of ziploc bags and I just smile and love him even more for wanting to explore (yes this really happened, don't worry though, I stopped him before he could get the roll of waxpaper completely unraveled). The deepest, truest kinds of conversations happen with soft music the in background. If you don't believe me just try it. I could go on and on and on, but I won't I promise :) Just wanted to share something that I have found to be a most relaxing way to still get the necessary chores done.
And now for the best part of the blog post ...pictures of the munchkin!(because that's what everyone really loves about blogs right?)
This is his new thing. Throw one shoe of each pair in the garbage...maybe then he won't have to wear shoes at all. Good thing I've caught him every time.
Another 5k picture.
Love that face!
He couldn't get enough of that dirt.
Wait it gets better...
He was covered in dirt by the end of the night.
Of course he had to taste it....
Good thing for dads.
He also learned to stick his tongue out.
A sure way to get out of eating vegetables.
