My New Best Friend

I never thought I would say this and my mom could probably attest to that but I LOVE my sewing machine. I wanted to make some skirts out of some old shirts and after sewing and unpicking the same seam twice I was pretty frustrated. I searched the internet on how to sew stretch material. After finding lots of good tutorials I got out my instruction manual to my sewing machine and couldn't put it down. It was like Christmas reading about all the wonderful things my machine could do. I have now finished two t-shirt skirts and loved every minute of it. Which is a first for me with a sewing project. I have also decided that I now have a sewing wishlist and perhaps if I write it down I won't forget: a better unpicker (because I always seem to do a lot of that), and a ruffler foot (because I love anything ruffly) and a better pair of fabric scissors. Regardless, I am excited to clean out my closet and see what else I can create from something old.

Some pictures from the other day of the little man. He is truly the highlight of my days...at some point or another. He even likes to sit on my lap while I sew.

This is how we play...

Peek-a-boo!

And this is "I'm going to get you"

James on his birthday.

Not sure how he got in there, but it's happened a few times.

Did I mention that this kid LOVES homemade bread.

He fell in and couldn't get out so of course I took a picture before getting him out :)
