The Pursuit of Happiness

I have been thinking a lot about this lately...and what it really means. I think it means more that just being happy. If we were happy all the time then we might forget just how great it is to be happy. I mean after experiencing sadness being happy is that much better because we have something to compare it with, and I don't know about you but happy feels a whole lot better than sad. I guess that's where "opposition in all things" comes in. I think that the pursuit of happiness is learning how to be happy amidst the chaos of the craziness we face every single day. It's a challenge that's for sure, and how many people can truly say that underneath all the comotion they have in their life that they are happy? I'd like to think that if I were to sit and think about my own happiness every night, I would consider myself a very happy person. Now, I must confess that sometimes I don't feel so happy, and it might take a little work to get to the bottom of my current emotions at the time, but deep down, I know I'm happy. I mean I have a darling husband who is so good to me, an adorable little boy, family and friends who are true gems, and best of all a knowledge of my Heavenly Father and His love for me. I know that if I continue to follow God's plan for me, take the hard times in stride, enjoy the good times, and stay close to Him then I can always be happy. I hope that in 20 years or so I can still say the same thing. May we all enjoy the journey that life has to offer :)

Anyways, if you had this adorable little man to chase around the house you'd probably have a few smiles and most definitely some chuckles. His new trick is to pull himself up onto things and practice standing. He crawls over the couch, pulls himself up, and practices walking the length of the couch. I am guessing he walks by 9 months or so. He has places to go and things to explore. He's not wasting any time.
He also likes to hike one pant leg up when he's standing for some reason.

I think he may be giving me a little bit of attitude in this picture.

Love those fish lips!
