Gingerbread Houses

I think it's safe to say that we have started a new tradition. While other people made a mad dash to the stores for black Friday, this little family stayed home where we were safe (and so was our wallet) and decorated for Christmas and made gingerbread houses instead. We originally started out having a contest to see who could make the best gingerbread house based on some criteria we came up with beforehand. When we were all done we realized that our creations were just too different to be compared (actually based on our criteria Chris would have won hands down so I talked him into a truce :) It really is better this way because our houses compliment each other. We built Santa's workshop and his house where Mrs. Claus does whatever Mrs. Clauses are supposed to do.

The little building behind is supposed to be the poolhouse....may be a little ambitious in the North Pole so we'll call it the hot tub house.

Had to get a different view so you could see the landing strip on the top.

Overall I think it's our new tradition for black Friday . It sure beats possibly getting trampled and it's a whole lot cheaper :)

  1. Haha! I love how honest you are. :) Beautiful creations Emma and Chris. We were also going to make gingerbread houses on Black Friday, but decided to make ties for our family pictures instead... anything is better than going shopping, right?
