No More Bandages!!!

Today I pulled the last steri strip off of James' cut! Other than the scar on his little back and side you can't even tell he had heart surgery. He is such a good baby. He sleeps a lot, eats a lot, and goes through a lot of diapers. My favorite thing he does is when he puts his tiny arms above his head to stretch. It's just adorable because his little fists barely reach past his head. He doesn't really like tummy time for more than a minute or two because it just wears him out I think. So to work his little neck muscles we put him on our chest and he looks around. He also loves being in the moby wrap. It's a bit of work to get him in there, but so worth it. I get my hands free and he gets to be close to mommy. I also never thought that just doing laundry could be so tiring, but it is. I almost can't remember what it was like to sleep for more than two or three hours at a time. Nothing could be more worth giving up sleep for though. Little James has brought so much joy into our lives and he's only a month old. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. I saw a quote the other day. I have no idea who it is by, but it was just what I needed. It said, "God doesn't give us what we can handle. God helps us handle what we are given." Trials are sure to come and they are just what we need to become better. I like to think of them as pathways that lead us closer to a loving Father in Heaven if we are willing.
