To continue the tale of our recent travels...We drove to Chris' parents' and got to spend a few days there to catch Chris' brothers' wedding bbq. I do so love my in-laws. Chris got sick that day and we had to make a bajillion stops between him and the kids but we finally got there. We ate out and talked, and played, and talked, and relaxed. It was lovely.
Went for a walk with grandma in the little red wagon.
But this little man wasn't really interested in sitting down or being held so I set him on the gravel. Love that face.
We went to a Brazilian steakhouse and it was so yummy!!! The boys were even well behaved. We did a little shopping afterwards to walk off all the food we ate :)
Playing peek a boo in the car.
This little boy has a thing for hats. He likes to take them off of his grandpas' heads. So we had him try on some in his own size. I think my heart just melted.
There were apricots on the counter. He reaches down, picks them both up, and proceeds to take bites out of each. Adorable!
This little worker bee has a thing for water. All through the bbq he was watering the flowers. He would dip the can in the rain barrel and carry it over to the flowers. If we couldn't find him in the house, he was usually outside doing this...or looking at the tractors. He couldn't get enough of those tractors and asked grandpa every five minutes if he could ride one.
The BBQ.
When it was time to leave these boys were so so so tired. They were like this before we got out of the parking lot of the grandparents' house. It was a fun trip and as always, I wish it could have been longer.
We got to see Aunt Alice and Uncle Chase's cute little house on our way to the airport. They are adorable together. It was a nice visit. 10 minutes from the airport James threw up all over himself and car seat, and even managed to get a little on our pillows for the flight. Good thing I built in an extra 30 minutes. We had to clean everything up at a gas station with flushable wipes because I ran out of wet wipes, there were no paper towels, and that's all the gas station had. It was an experience that's for sure. I liked the fact that our flight was through the night because the boys mostly slept the entire flight, but I'm not sure it's worth it. We got to Florida, waited for our luggage, almost threw up upon opening the bag around James' car seat, ran to the bathroom a few times because James now had diarrhea, and got picked up by an earthly angel in the wee hours of the morning. Then, we were home. It was so so SO good to be home. Chris left the house spotless and it was so lovely to walk into a clean house. We all slept for a good 3 hours after eating breakfast. I had our bags unpacked and laundry done before we went to sleep that night. The boys were loving their toys and own beds. I think they were even more happy than I was to be home.
I love this picture. Crazy dad, happy boy, just trying to hold it together mom, and why to I have to be on this plane Seth. I miss my family, but I'm glad I don't have to get on a plane for a while. :)
