Happy Birthday Seth

In the midst of the illnesses, we have actually been able to live a little. Seth turned 1!!!!! What a joyful little boy! His little personality is starting to really come out and it is so fun.

Because I don't believe little kids need cake (and we don't really like cake anyways) Seth got a watermelon cake. I mixed some cream cheese and yogurt together, smeared it on top of a slab of watermelon and embellished with blueberries. He Loved it!

Thumbs up for my birthday!

He ate all the blueberries first, stuck his fingers in the 'frosting' and licked them and then....

dug into the watermelon like it was a pile of sand. He wasn't interested in eating it, just demolishing it.

This cute boy insisted on taking pictures too. He kept asking us to 'smile' and say cheese. It was so funny.

Dad on videotaping duty.

Had to give them a bath after the watermelon.

He got new jammies for his birthday. I LOVE how bright and happy they are. We almost got him cookie monster jammies because the kid loves to eat. He can just have eaten a dinner til he's full, but when he sees someone else eating, he wants some.

I even managed to write him a letter on my phone one night...

Dear Seth,

You turned one!! I cannot express the joy you've brought into our home. You are quick to smile and love to eat. I am so very grateful you decided to come to our family. James adores you even though he doesn't always show it. He's a great older brother and I hope the two of you will be buddies. You are the cutest little boy with wavy blond hair and if you would let me kiss those cheeks all day I would. Thanks for being a snuggler and for giving me kisses. I am so excited to watch you grow and learn more skills and develop your personality. Please forgive me for all the things I don't do right. I love you more than you'll ever know!
Seth, you are truly a son of God. He loves you even more than I do and that is a nearly impossible thing to do. I hope you always remember that you are a son of God. That knowledge will carry you through anything and everything that life throws your way.

Love,
Mom
