A dear friend of mine told me this saying the other day pertaining to life with small children, or just children in general, "The days are long, but the years are short." Definitely, so true! I usually can't wait until bedtime, but when it finally comes I don't want the day to end. I am so grateful to be the mom of these two precious boys. I think that most of the time I feel frazzled, but underneath the frizz I am bursting with joy and gratitude. I get stopped in the grocery store all the time with the usually comment of, "don't worry, it gets easier," I still haven't decided if it's because my kids just got done screaming or if I really do look as frazzled on the outside as I feel like on the inside sometimes. Not sure it really matters :) I kind of love going to the store, just to hear what people say. My favorite was a man that came over and said, "you boys take good care of each other." Not sure what he had to endure during his lifetime, but he sure was a sweet man. But my all time favorite comment ever was while I was in Target with James when he was a baby. This lady said, "You should have a dozen children. He's so beautiful." Thank you lady, you just made my day, and still make my day when I think about it...not sure about the dozen thing though.
In the car on the way to the beach.
He is always that happy.
This was at the playground. Took us forever to find all the little things, but we wouldn't leave until we did. Pretty sure Chris and I had way too much fun searching for them. I think we need to get out more.
Best playground toy ever. It spins and when you stand up it spins faster.
New playground that we fell in love with. I just wish it was closer.
He's becoming a pro at ladders. Fire poles at the playground??...not so much.
This was his castle.
Chris says gazebos are only for breakfast or brunch, but mostly just for breakfast. I say gazebos are for any time of day or for any meal you want...as long as there is dancing.
God does exist.
And he loves me, so he made beautiful skies for me to feel that love.
My second home. We would live at the playground if James had more of a say in the matter.
This kid melts my heart!!
Took a coworker from India to the beach. It was BEAUTIFUL!! Have I mentioned that I LOVE LOVE LOVE living in Florida?!?!
This little kid loved the beach. I am so happy that he finally like playing in the water.
"I don't know about you."
I loved this post! I too, love hearing what strangers have to say about my kids because it's usually when they're on their best behavior and its usually positive! Lol I could hear Travis' saying some of those things you wrote. :-) I love it! And yes, that saying is true to a T! I can't believe my oldest is 10, but it better be bed time soon! Lol Love you sweet Bench family. Wish we lived in Florida too!
ReplyDeleteWe love you too! Florida is beautiful, but I think I would rather live in Alaska in the summer time :)
