After a very long month of wondering what it was that I was eating that could be causing my sweet, little James to spit up way too much, scream when he ate sometimes, have weird looking diapers, and sometimes scream himself to sleep while in my arms, I finally figured out, with the help from some wonderful people, that it was probably a stomach bug and not allergies at all. Hooray! I started giving him probiotics which is something I should have started doing as soon as I brought him home from the hospital. See when someone is given anitbiotics it not only kills the bad bugs but it kills the good, necessary ones right along with them. I knew that, but I suppose that my sleep deprived, emotional roller coaster of a mind must have forgotten. Oh well, I just got to learn and grow a whole bunch this month :) After giving James the probiotics he started sleeping much better! He spit up a bunch for a few days, but now he's starting to figure things out again. He also had a heart appointment last week and we learned that his heart looks good!!!! There is still that small valve that is a little leaky, but everything else looks great and we don't have to go back til November! I also learned that he hasn't gained any weight in over a month. :( I guess this stomach bug really took a toll on the poor guy. He still managed to outgrow two of my favorite sleeper outfits for him though because he got taller. I took him to the doc for a weight check and to see what we needed to do to put some weight on this kid. He said to keep doing what I'm doing with the probiotics and we'll weigh him again in about two weeks. It was comforting to know that I was doing all the right things for James. We also gave him a priesthood blessing and that helped more than anything else we could have done. So grateful for this gospel and for an awesome husband! Love that man!!!!!!

Oops, the flash was on, but I think it's safe to say that his eyes are blue. Oh how I love those little eyes!
All I can say is that it's a good thing this kid has a dad.
Our handsome little church goin' man.
So, remember when you and Chris were getting married and I told you that someday, one of your kids was going to look up at you with their big blue eyes and either you or Chris was going to cave and let them have a dog? Behold, the beginnings of that prophecy! :) (You go little James!!!)
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha! I forgot about that comment but it's true. Someone from Chris' work saw this dog while she was shopping for the group gift and just couldn't pass it up. My kind of dog!
