We Dig Birthday Parties

So I'm a lot late posting this, but time just has a way of getting away from me sometimes. James turned 3 in March and I just had to throw him a party that was construction themed. I'm pretty sure he didn't really comprehend the fact that it was his birthday, but he soon got the picture. He was all about being the center of attention. We had a few friends over and it was a delightful day. He had one friend his age over, the rest were babies and adults. It was his best little friend though. When we told her we were going to eat dirt, she wrinkled up her cute little nose and looked at her mom like, "I think these people are crazy." She's probably right about the crazy part. Life would be far too dull if we weren't some level of crazy.

I wish I would have been able to capture his little face when I brought this out. It was a look of excited wonder. We got it on video, but my handsome tech man is currently out for the evening so my apologies at not being able to share the wonder. I think I may have been just as excited as James about this dump truck 'cake.' I made up my own recipe for the dirt and I was super happy with it. I would have made my own pudding and oreos too, but alas, my efforts were thwarted by that thing called time.

I'd call that a happy birthday boy.

He got 10 new cars/diggers and he didn't want to open any other gifts after opening those. It was pretty funny.

"Look mom, I built a tower."
Talk about a parking garage.
