Christmas Vacation Part 2

After a 7ish hour car ride where both Chris and I spent the last 4 hours wishing we could just sleep to feel better, we spent the next week of our vacation at my parents' house on the ranch. I think the altitude was getting to us and making us feel yucky. I guess living in our tropical paradise made us lightweights :) After sleeping for a few hours and taking a nap the next day, we finally felt better and James and Chris went out to play in the snow. We then had Christmas dinner with my siblings and grandparents. My parents even saved the prime rib for me. It was so yummy!!! The next day was baby Clara's baby blessing in Challis. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful little girl. I can't help but think she is the little miracle our family needed for so many reasons. Some hard, some good, some not so good, and some wonderful reasons. Monday Chris and Adam went snowboarding. Chris said it was great and that he felt how great the powder was a little too frequently, but I guess 5 years away will do that :) We met them at the hot springs that night and it was cold, but the water was warm. We fit way too many bodies in the hot tub, but had lots of fun doing it. I miss hot springs so much living on this side of the country. I'm so happy we could squeeze that in. Uncle Brian taught James to growl there. And now both boys growl at everything. It's pretty hilarious. On New Year's Lexi and my mom threw a dance and it was a blast! It has been far too long since Chris and I danced. Of course James danced around the floor too. Every time I looked at Seth a different relative was holding him and he was as happy as can be. We went sledding, snow machining, James helped Grandpa Kevin feed cows, sat in a backhoe, looked at the new shop's progress, saw the greenhouse, didn't get enough sleep, ate lots of yummy food, played with cousins, watched a movie with the projector, played games, and so much more that I'm forgetting. Mostly I was just glad to see my family and give them all a hug. It's crazy how much can change in one short year. I was really happy that I live in Florida though. No snow to make roads bad and absolutely no negative temperatures. ever. That made leaving a little easier. only a little though.

Aunt Alice and Seth just hanging out.

My Idahome :) That view never gets old.

At the New Years Eve dance. Love those people.

Out my parents' living room window.

Proof that Seth was happy while my mom held him. Not the best picture. But my mom is beautiful even with her eyes closed.

This is how we slept. A bit crowded, but this sleep was better than no sleep. I suppose.

Daddy holding Seth in his little Eskimo outfit.

The dancing blur. He didn't hold still long enough to get a good picture.

Uncle Jeff (not related, but it wouldn't be a family function without him :) and Alice's boyfriend Chase playing with the boys.

Aunt Katelynn, and Grandma Kathy on the couch with baby Clara. It was so good to see my grandma and grandpa. I sure love them.

Trying Chase's hat on for size.

Isn't that face to die for?

The snowboarding boys.

Oh Matthew, I wish I could've brought you home with me. I used to hold him just like he's holding Seth. Such a good kid that boy. So are all those Barton boys.

More of the dance.

On the trampoline.
