...for a week or two. I got to help with our ward Christmas party this year and it was so fun!!! I am so glad it's over, but it was oh so fun to help. I have glitter all over my house to remind me that I love it so much (for real though, no sarcasm here, I really do love it that much)! The best part of the whole night, watching people take pictures in front of the train we built. Chris did most of the work putting it together. He's a good man and I should really thank my mother in law for exposing him to so many crafts at an early age so that he just thinks that it's what the women in his life do :) Anyways, the theme was The Polar Express and I got to put together the table centerpieces and train. So glad ladies were willing to help make the 75 trees we needed...or else I never would have finished them. And if I didn't have such an awesome husband, the train would not have been as cool. I also learned that vinyl lettering is way more complicated than I have patience for :) Good thing I didn't have to do them either.
I think I managed to only get paint on one tiny spot of the carpet...I think.
Walking into the party.
Getting our ticket for the conductor to punch.
I sadly forgot to take a picture of the sweet shop and hot chocolate bar, but oh so yummy! A lady suggested to James to pick out two cookies that she would watch while he ate his dinner. Best idea ever!! I'm pretty sure the kid wouldn't have eaten as much dinner as he did without that brilliant idea. Sometimes it really does take a village (or at least a kind lady with a fresh idea) to raise a child or at least feed a child.
The conductor (bishop) telling the kids a story. This was after The Polar Express was read to us as well.
A beautiful 'Silent Night' being sung with a live nativity.
Our boys were troopers. They spent all day getting told to stay out of trouble while we went to a baptism, set up the train, and then went to the party. And they even slept til 8 the next morning.
And have I mentioned that I LOVE MY VAN!!!! It fit the refrigerator boxes Lowe's saved for me that we used to make the train.
